Fourth International Online Conference of the Intermarium Support Group
“Global Turbulence and the Purpose of Intermarium”
On December 18, 2020 (starting at 14:00 Kyiv Time) the Fourth International Conference of the Intermarium Support Group, founded by Andriy Biletsky, the Leader of National Corps, the founder and the first commander of the Azov Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine, will take place.
For obvious reasons, this year it will be held online, and the core blocks of this cycle, Ukraine’s defensibility as a key to Eastern European security and the regional solidarity, will be considered in the light of global challenges that we observe and experience at present.
After all, today, the Russian-Ukrainian war is accompanied not only by the migration crisis and terrorist attacks in Europe and all over the world but also by military conflicts with the participation of the Russian Federation, which have shifted from the area of Syria to the Nagorno-Karabakh. Unexpectedly, the Belarusian “Maidan” burst out, as did the BLM protests in the United States, which, combined with the ongoing struggle for the outcome of the presidential election, threatens to plunge this superpower into a whirlpool of its own turbulence that will last for years. All these processes, which create a fertile field for hybrid intervention of the Russian media and lobbies, will be considered in the framework of the block entitled “Era of the Post-Truth and Information Warfares.”
At the same time, it is hard to overlook positive changes in the development of The Three Seas Initiative: the issue of Ukraine’s accession to the project despite its non-aligned status is increasingly raised, and the Intermarium Interfactional Association was initiated in the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine.
Deoccupation of the Donbas as seen by the Ukrainian and Croatian veterans, exchange of experience with allied parties in the region’s parliaments and the future of Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe in the face of global turbulence and new pandemic challenges are a short list of issues to be discussed at the conference.
