While the 20th century saw rapid political upheavals and massive social change, the 21st century is well on its way to eclipsing it. Facilitated by the consumerist monoculture espoused by international elites, mass migration of 3rd world populations, and the collapsing vision of the post-enlightenment neoliberal framework which has reigned supreme in the West since the end of the Cold War; the rich traditions and history of Indo-European people are under threat like never before. No nation can exist, much less prosper without protecting the cultural foundation of its civilization. While the scope of this situation is unprecedented, the fundamental struggle for sovereignty is not new. In the years following the First World War, the newly independent nations of Eastern Europe found themselves perched precariously between the twin threats of German incursion from the West and Soviet expansionism in the East. In an effort to guard against these dangers, Jozef Pilsudski, chief of state and First Marshal of the Second Polish Republic, promoted the concept of Intermarium (between the seas). He believed a federation of Eastern European nations could better combat their shared peril. In 2020, the scope of progression and decay within our societies, particularly in America and Western Europe necessitates a similar strategy. A new Intermarium, today is focused on the preservation of a shared European heritage that must be supported and adopted.
The United States of America has a relatively short history, having existed for less than three hundred years as an independent nation. However, the American way of life is the spiritual continuation of something far older. Like its founding stock, American law, politics, history, and traditions all originated in Europe. In its purest form, America is authentically a Pan-European nation. While America has developed an attitude and identity that is distinct from Europe, these differences are no more than those delineating fathers from sons. Regardless of nominal distinctions, we are forever connected by history and blood.
In 2020, European people, cultures, history, and traditions are being challenged by a hostile and international parasitic elite. Crucially, the countries of Eastern and Central Europe located between the Black, Baltic, and Adriatic Seas have continued the spirit of Intermarium. The federation still functions as a mechanism through which to uphold shared cultural, economic, and political interests on the international stage. Additionally, this bond would allow the region to prosper without the corrupting influences of larger, culturally imperialistic nations attempting to promote their decadent worldviews.
The political and cultural crisis we are facing in the United States is not insular from the broader assault on the Pan-European world but functions as a natural extension of it. Eastern Europeans are very aware, even more than their Western counterparts, of the true struggle; and the root causes of the threats we are facing. Eastern Europe is one of the few regions of the world where political dissidents and right-wing activists can express their legitimate concerns without total state and corporate repression. Countries within this region have become a haven in which to gather, educate, and develop healthy right-wing political ideas. By contrast, Western European people find themselves isolated, and any aspiring nationalist movement is strangled in the cradle by the overwhelming power of the neo-liberal culture and media machine.
In response to the general decline of the West, Pan-European projects that function in opposition to the global power structure are increasingly necessary. Nationalists and right-wing activists must look at the larger impact of their political decisions as they relate to the broader struggle for European identity. We can choose to fight insulated battles in our respective regions and risk defeat in detail, or we can look to fortify movements outside of our own nations in the spirit of our collective struggle. We can choose to continue shouldering our burdens in solitude, or we can learn from our Eastern brothers and unite to advance our shared political and cultural interests. Binding the faithful of America with their spiritual brothers in Europe is a natural and necessary response to the international nature of the neoliberal world order. Americans and Western Europeans can assert their collective interests as well as national sovereignty and identity upon all threats from international elites. The pressures we face in America today are the same ones that the areas of Intermarium are facing. The future must be, at its core, a project in which European nations can develop their culture and preserve their individual and common identities.
While we are rightfully proud of our ethnic heritage and cultures, we have come to a point where this love has been bastardized to sow division amongst European people. We must put aside any petty differences that weaken our resolve or distract us from the existential threats we have in common. The egoism that disallows us from uniting under common cause leaves us alone in a room full of thieves, with no one to watch our backs. Any authentic defense against the neoliberal world order hinges on facing our shared enemies together. The heroic goal of Intermarium must become the spiritual direction for all European people. We must forge a bond capable of ripping our countries, and their cultures out of the clutches of these international elites who wish to see us become foreigners in our own lands.
Throughout European history, similar unions have always developed despite internal struggles, disagreements, and conflicts. Thousands of years of regional conflicts bear witness to this fact. The Holy League, a primarily Catholic defense of Christendom during the Ottoman invasion of 1684 happily included European protestants in the shared struggle for survival. The Holy Roman Empire, Poland-Lithuania, and the Venetian Republic set aside their differences and became a shield for our people. With Intermarium, we have no illusion of perfect harmony or Utopia between members; but rather a commitment to shared defense, and economic partnership aligned with European values and traditions. America and the West were once the beacon of free expression and liberty. Those values are gone, and we must now ensure resistance to those who would fan the flames of our destruction. Nationalist cooperation is not only the sole hope for the survival of Eastern and Central Europe but every Pan-European nation.
Our metapolitics must be global, because today, the attack is global. Starting now, the way forward is one in which we no longer work in a purely national context. We are facing an attack on European culture, traditions, and economics on a global scale. With this in mind, we must understand that the winning response is a united response. We must recognize that Eastern Europe is culturally the healthiest part of our modern world, and by securing our allies’ mission we will inspire and build the model that Western societies can follow. Our brothers have shown us that this is the only path to restore our culture, traditions, and values. Intermarium will be the shield against subversion, progressive conquest, and subjugation.
